You may view my work to the left on the CSS slide menu. All my work is from scratch with the help of Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop.
My web sites are mainly HTML hand coded. They are all original. I understand the importance of CSS Style Sheets. I can also use other scripting languages when needed to get a desired result. There are no cookie cutter templates involved in my work.
75% of people designing web sites on the internet today are self taught. I decided I enjoyed web design and I thought that the only way to learn more about it was to find an area college that offered a web design program.
This brought me to Baker College of Port Huron, Michigan. I was surprised to learn that only 25% of the people designing web sites today on the internet have any formal training, education or credentials.
I attended a 2 year certificate program at Baker College in Port Huron Michigan. While at Baker, I learned the proper use of Internet research, concepts and techniques.
I also learned various programs such as: Adobe Photo Shop, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Fireworks and Macromedia Flash professional with action script and animation. I also learned video and media optimization, In Flash.
I also have Microsoft Access and Microsoft Publisher experience. Adobe Acrobat PDF Professional. I have some knowledge of Above Illustrator and Adobe In-Design. and Jasc Paint Shop Pro. I am registered user of Adobe products.
I have had several classes in Scripting Languages. These include Intermediate and Advanced HTML (My Specialty). Java script. Perl Scripting/CGI and XML, CSS, DHTML and AJAX. And Electronic Commerce using the pay pal system. I will be learning php and my Sql when it is offered at Baker in fall 2009.
I also learned search engine placement and the importance of proper Meta Tags. Along with browser optimization, size restrictions and optimizing websites for reading in the 5 main browsers.
I have several design classes including web color management and English composition. These improved my design and writing skills. I worked hard and maintained a GPA of 3.4 throughout my time at Baker College.
